Highlight Story
We want to showcase real success stories from our colleagues to highlight what is possible and celebrate their achievements.
Today, we recognize Tammi Blackstone, Laura Roeder-Grubb, and the Department of Management (DOM) for building a smarter way to manage justice data requests from the public. What started as a need for better tracking and accountability turned into an organized, easy-to-use system that documents every request from start to finish.
Agency: DOM – Department of Management
Creators: Tammi Blackstone, Laura Roeder-Grubb
Project: Justice Data Request Form
Details: DOM's data and research team needed a way to receive and track justice data requests from the public in a way that was organized and allowed for internal tracking and accountability. With support from Qualtrics, Tammi Blackstone and Laura Roeder-Grubb built a customized data request form that gives the public an easy, straightforward way to submit requests. The form allows the team to store PDFs alongside each request, documenting data-sharing permissions as well as the results shared with each requester.
The new system helps DOM better serve Iowans by ensuring no data requests are missed or delayed, and it gives the team a reliable way to assess internal performance measures.
Looking ahead, the team is planning a Phase 2 that brings true CX by getting feedback from our constituents. Once a request ticket is closed, constituents will receive a feedback request asking how their experience went. We're excited to see the team truly listening to the voice of the customer, in this case, the State of Iowa citizens they serve.
Great job, Tammi, Laura, and DOM!
