How Do I Work with Microcontent?

Microcontent comes in many formats and can be placed throughout the site.

Review the different types of Microcontent and determine which makes sense for your purposes.

Lists can come as Listing Pages, Automatic Lists, or "static" Visual Link Collections or Link Collection Lists.

You have many options from which to choose.

Everyone who writes things on this website has a special title. These titles give them certain abilities, like who can edit, review and publish what. You can ask for a different title or take one away from someone using the user manager.

This Admin view displays all micro-content on the site and allows authors to sort & filter the list. Authors can edit micro-content types from this view.

Microcontent is constrained to items that are typically "placed" elsewhere. For example: microcontent such as accordions, promos, link collections and visual link collections, and statistics are created and then may be utilized throughout the site.

Microcontent may be collected in the microcontent library, then placed where you desire.

When sorting through different types of microcontent, understand that the same piece of microcontent, may be used throughout your website: for example, a promo may be placed on unlimited Basic Pages, and the same promo may be placed on unlimited Landing Pages. When the original promo is edited, its display will be updated across all places. 

A spelling change, link change, or image change will perpetuate everywhere that promo is in use.

Now that there is microcontent that has its place inside the /admin/content/microcontent menu, you may take that content and place it throughout the site.
