Free Image Photo Resources
If you are looking to find photos that are free consider using these sites. Be careful in your review of the images as photos are from around the world. Zoom in on the newspaper laying on the table to confirm it is written in English. Review street images to make certain car license plates are not from Europe.
Unsplash Be certain to filter for "license" Free as this site also has some paid images from iStock.
Pixabay iStock also has images promoted on this site. Search by orientation, size, color, and more.
Pexels iStock also has images promoted on the site. Find photos and videos. Includes 85,000 free black and white photos.
Licensed Photo Resources
The State of Iowa has purchased a small number of licenses for Shutterstock for agencies to use. All agencies can submit a Service Desk request for DoIT to download an image for your website.
Images that have been selected from Shutterstock, purchased from a local photographer, or identified as available under creative commons are available for agencies in the shared DX Photo Gallery Google drive.
Remember, there are other free photo resources like Pexels and Unsplash. Choose a photo that is US-based featuring an Iowa field. Also, don't use images of mountains, oceans, car license plates, or traffic signs from other countries. Also, avoid images with text burned or added into them.
