If you delete a question from a live survey, you lose the data you've already collected for it. But leaving a question visible when you don't want respondents to see it anymore isn't great either. Now you can just hide it. One click removes the question from view, and all the data you've already collected stays exactly as it was.
Back to topWhat Are the Benefits of This Enhancement?
- Safer Live Edits: Change a survey that's already collecting responses without messing up the data you've already gathered.
- Faster Workflow: Hide a question in one click instead of building your own display logic from scratch.
- Reversible: You can unhide a question anytime, so nothing is permanent.
When Was This Rolled Out?
This enhancement was officially rolled out in July 2026. It is now active in the survey editor.
Back to topHow Does Hiding a Question Work?
- To Hide a Question: Click the question, then click the three dots in its top-right corner and select Hide Question. Qualtrics sets up display logic behind the scenes so respondents never see it.
- To Unhide a Question: Click the hidden question, then click the three dots in its top-right corner and select Unhide Question to bring it back.
