Heads Up
- We held training on October 27, 2026. All session resources are now available on Qualtrics On-Demand: Your Training, Your Time, under the Qualtrics CX Review, Approval and Republishing Training section.
What to Know First
This page walks through the survey publication process from start to finish, whether you’re submitting a new survey or reviewing one. For each step, you’ll see who’s responsible, what status your survey is in, and what to expect next.
The goal is simple: everyone involved knows what to do, when to do it, and how their part fits into a successful survey launch.
Attention Survey Creators and Approvers: Use the CX Studios and Review and Approval Dashboards to track your survey’s status at any point in this process.

Additional Statuses
21:18 - R/A Process - Status: Testing, Denied, and Republish
These statuses are less common, but you may still see them:
- Denied: Your agency approver reviewed your survey and didn’t sign off, possibly due to concerns with the content, timing, or fit for your agency. Work with your agency to make any needed changes, then resubmit for review.
- Republish: Your last republish request is already being processed by the Qualtrics and Iowa Security & Quality Team. See the Guide to Republish for the full process.
- Testing: For most surveys, the preview window is enough to test things out. But for a handful of more complex projects, you’ll need a published version to test properly, in rare cases.
