Pre-kickoff

Agencies will:

Cohort kickoff. Cohorts are groups of agencies who participate in workshops together, attend training together, and launch their sites in the same general time period.

Lullabot will:

  • Deliver content inventory, audit spreadsheet, and writing for the web guide.
  • Deliver project checklist, which outlines agency next steps.

Agencies will:

  • Start your content audit.
  • Begin attending content strategy office hours. Office hours are an opportunity to get support from the Lullabot team while doing your content audit, ask questions about the content process, and learn from your cohort peers.
    • Held every Tues and Thurs from 1:00 - 1:30pm CT
  • Begin attending content building training. Similar to office hours, content building trainings are an opportunity to learn about the Drupal platform and ask questions about how to add/edit content on your new website.
    • Held Every Tues: 1:30-2:15 p.m. and every OTHER Friday from 2:00-2:45 p.m

DOM DoIT will:

  • Send you a kickoff email with details about the process and how to get access to your new site.
  • Provide user logins to your new Drupal website.

Week 2

Agencies will:

  • Attend the goals, audience, and navigation workshop, run by Lullabot (60-90 mins).
  • Continue your content audit.
  • Complete the Agency Website Roles Request Form. This form is included in the initial project kickoff email from DOM DoIT.
  • Continue reviewing training materials

Lullabot will:

  • Begin building the content matrix, based on navigation we created in our workshop together. The content matrix is a spreadsheet that acts as a sitemap for your new site.

Week 5 and Beyond

Agencies will:

  • Continue review training material
  • Continue writing and refreshing website content.
  • Continue attending content strategy office hours and content building trainings.
  • Consider what content (if any) you need automatically migrated to your new Drupal website.
  • Start manually migrating content to your new Drupal website.
  • Turn on an Alert on your existing website notifying visitors that the site will soon change and to contact you with questions.
  • Add a site redesign alert on your new site to inform your audience about the relaunch and provide options for visitors who can’t find what they need.

Lullabot will:

  • Begin discussing auto-migration with you.
  • Deliver an auto-migration plan (if applicable).
  • Offer help from the content team to migrate complex content (if applicable).

DOM DoIT will:

  • Define a redirect plan for old site URLs, along with your team and Lullabot.
  • Determine action items for security certificates.

Launch Week

DOM DoIT will:

  • Point your  domain to the new Pantheon site.
  • Implement the redirect plan.
  • Archive the original website. Site archives are decommissioned after 30 days. After this, you can access a public archive of your old site at Archive.org.
