Content Information
The title of every page of your website should be unique. No two titles should be the same because it confuses search engines, and most of all, your users. Follow these guidelines when naming your pages:
- Be clear and concise, but accurate.
- Keep page titles unique - no two should be duplicated.
- Use ampersands in place of the word βandβ to save space.
- Be consistent.
If you use word separators, use the same ones - donβt switch between hyphens, dashes and arrows constantly. Keep a consistent format and order.
Clear. Concise. Accurate. Straightforward page names help users understand the context of the page without misunderstanding.
- Example (good): Independent Living Services
- Example (poor): Services
- Example (good): Nursing Home Administrators
- Example (poor): Administrators
If your page title is too long for your URL or the menu of your website, you can use the Short Title field in the admin to shorten it. It will not, however, shorten the page name or page title.
