Currently, a Listing Page can be created to add locations together in title only format, or in teaser format. We also allow listing pages to show locations in a Map format, where the map is auto-generated and displayed on Google Maps, inside the agency web page.

Create a Listing Page of Locations

How to add a map to a Location Listing page

With location listing page the address has to have the street address first so that it can find it. You can have one that shows the list of locations and maps or just the map alone by selecting the Location (Map) in the List field.

To have the map appear with the Listing under it select “Location” in the list and then click the map box at the Include attachment field.

Log in to your site

Everyone who writes things on this website has a special title. These titles give them certain abilities, like who can edit, review and publish what. You can ask for a different title or take one away from someone using the user manager.

2

Navigate to the Content tab

You can add pages to your website by navigating to the content button but make sure you are logged in so that you can have access to that tab.

You can sort the pages that you've created using the filter button as well as edit the pages you've created for your website by selecting the edit button within the content list page:

Create a new Location content type

Navigate to Content | Add Content | Location, and insert the details related to the location.

Note that the Location "Type" is optional and may be controlled by a user with Taxonomy Manager privileges, it is handled inside Structure | Taxonomy | Location Type. Typically we've seen location types be quite varied such as: "Office"  or "Medical Facility" or even a designation such as "Public Reservations Accepted." Learn more about Taxonomy.

Other content added to the Location content type includes the Areas Served (by county), image (typically this is an image of the front door of your building), address, hours open, if the location is temporarily closed.

  • Listing page of "How Do I" to collect and display how do I content.
  • Listing page of "Events" to collect and display events.
  • Listing page of "News" to collect and display events.
  • Listing page of "Locations" to collect and display locations.

Locations in a Map

It's possible to submit locations to your website, then assemble those locations in to a Map view. When creating a listing page, choose Locations and within the Include Attachments field select the map checkbox. Your listing page will then render with map capabilities, using Google Maps.

Append a map as an attachment

If you would like a listing page and a map "attached", use the "Map" attachment by clicking this box on the "Edit" screen of the Listing Page.

That attachment will append a map to the top of the listing page.

If unchecked, the listing page will be a straight listing page.
