Highlight Story
We want to showcase real success stories from our colleagues to highlight what’s possible and celebrate their achievements.
Today, we recognize Lisa Albers and the Department of Education (DOE) team for their innovative approach to solving a critical communication challenge. When their existing Google Forms and Form Mule solution for internal web requests began failing in late 2025, the team needed a reliable, efficient alternative—and they delivered.
Agency: DOE – Department of Education
Creator: Lisa Albers
Project: DOE Web Request System Modernization
Details: Since 2024, DOE has relied on Google Forms with a Form Mule extension to send email notifications for web content requests. By October 2025, Form Mule became inconsistent and eventually stopped working, creating an urgent need for a dependable solution.
Lisa partnered with Alex Peck from DOM DoIT for assistance and guidance, leveraging his prior Qualtrics experience. Together, they rebuilt the internal web request form in Qualtrics, providing a robust and reliable platform that improved automation and productivity.
The impact of this work has been significant. They implemented a fully closed‑loop system that supports end‑to‑end request tracking and provides real‑time analytics on request volume by work unit, assignments, and completion times. Since December 2025, more than 300 intake requests have been processed through the system, creating a strong foundation for advanced dashboards and data‑driven decision-making. The model is also proving highly scalable, as it is already being demonstrated with other agencies to promote cross‑agency collaboration and operational efficiency.
Great job Lisa and DOE.
