  • “Click here” language for text links

• Review website for old or outdated content and documents, and unpublish 

  Unpublishing one or the other does not fix both. You must unpublish both the page and the document.

• Identify website roles for employees in your agency

  You’ll receive an email and spreadsheet that defines the roles you’ll want to consider

• Update your leadership team on progress of your overall project

• Attend Cohort Kick-off Meeting with Lullabot
• Receive Content & Document Inventory, Audit, and Error report from Lullabot
• Attend Lullabot Audience, Goals, and Navigation Workshop where you’ll discuss:
  • Core and secondary audiences and their goals
  • Topics of your content (for taxonomy and sorting)
  • Proposed navigation for your new website 
• Perform your content audit using the audit sheet Lullabot provided. Your content should be:
  • Accurate, up-to-date, and free of errors
  • Readable, grade 8 or lower
  • Accessible, avoiding directional language or jargon
  • Audience-focused, meeting audience needs first
• Begin identifying your agency taxonomy (category) terms to tag your content.
• Update your leadership team on progress of your project

• Continue your content audit. Your content should be:

• Add a site redesign alert to inform your audience about the relaunch and provide options for visitors who can’t find what they need

Your old website will be completely deleted 30 days following the launch date of your new site. You can view your old website at archive.org.
