MSF&W held MS Word and Accessibility Overview training in September and October 2022.

This two-hour training recording gives an overview of accessibility. It also shows how to use the JAWS screen reader.

Training looks at how a user interacts with both an inaccessible document and an accessible one. To create accessible Word and PDF documents, you should know key concepts and terms. This overview gives a basic background on accessibility. This foundation will guide us as we explore Word and PDF accessibility topics and techniques.

In the second hour, attendees learn how to use Word effectively. This helps them create the most accessible PDF documents. Training covers tips and best practices for making documents ready for PDF conversion. We’ll discuss Styles, Headings, Lists, Columns, Images, Tables, and the Word Accessibility Checker.
