What's Changed for Authors
Accordions: From the latest deployment, it was observed that content managers could not delete individual accordion items from an existing micro-content accordion node due to functionality built for CKEditor4. Now, content managers can once again remove individual accordion items from an accordion or specific FAQ question-and-answer line items from an FAQ list.
Documents: A new optional field called "Remote URL" has been added to the Document media type, currently consisting only of a URL.
Qualtrics: Writers, editors, publishers, and managers can now create and place a new Qualtrics Media Library item.
Micro-content: Agency managers can now sort /admin/content/micro by "Video Promo."
- Layout Builder: "Basic" has been removed from the layout builder for all micro-content types but is still available for embed entities on basic pages, starting with Promos.
- Alerts: The link field for the alert content type has been updated to use the Linkit tool, allowing for both internal and external links.
- Training workshops reminder: Complete the training registration form and join our online workshops, designed for both new and experienced content managers working on the DX Platform.
- Sliver End of Life reminder: The "Sliver," previously required at the top of all public-facing websites, will be decommissioned on June 30, 2024. It was also implemented on some agency web applications. Please remove the "Sliver" code or replace it with the "Top Hat" by June 30, 2024, to ensure smooth site performance. The "Top Hat" has been a requirement for all public-facing websites since July 1, 2023. If you have any questions, please contact Dawn Connet at Dawn.Connet@iowa.gov (515-201-9781) or Matt Perry at Matt.Perry@iowa.gov (515-443-1947).
Behind the scenes: Numerous updates this week focused on improving the DX Platform behind the scenes, aiming to create a more user-friendly and navigable experience. Some of these updates include:
- Domain redirects: A request was submitted to redirect the domain name https://www.futurereadyiowa.gov to https://workforce.iowa.gov/.
- Link collections: For a link collection list without a "more" link on a landing page, the title and description now utilize the full width of the component.
- Color palettes: The palettes are now available in PDF format for easy reference and to view the HTML color codes (hex codes).
